I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life

They didn’t know the destination,
How then could they know the way?
But, “In My Father’s house are many rooms,
I go there to prepare a place.”
And the way to the Father is by a cross,
And crucifixion of the grave.

Caught in hurricanes of doctrine,
Floods of words without a meaning
Clutching right with no foundation,
And on the roads of Galilee
The Truth that spoke the world is walking,
Manifest to set us free.

Wandering deeper than the grave,
And drowning in a sea of darkness,
He who cast the earth amid the heavens
Clothed in perishable flesh
And overflowing with all life –
He came, and shone into the darkness.
